
MOSCOW, December 9. Literary critic Andrei Nemzer died at the age of 67, literary critic Oleg Lekmanov reported on Facebook*.
Causes of death and other details are not provided.
Nemzer's wife Yana told RBC that he died after suffering from cancer.
Andrey Nemzer graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University. He worked as the head of the criticism department of the Literary Review magazine, as a columnist in Nezavisimaya Gazeta, and the Segodnya newspaper. He has over a thousand publications to his name.
From 1999 to 2002, Andrei Nemzer taught at the Russian Theater Academy, and since 2002 — at the Higher School of Economics in the Department of Literature. In 2015, Nemzer was awarded a government prize in the field of culture.
