MOSCOW, December 12, Anastasia Panina. Two-time Olympic silver medalist figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva said that she can call herself an artist and creator thanks to producer and choreographer Ilya Averbukh and Honored Trainer of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova.
On Tuesday, a creative meeting dedicated to the 50th anniversary of Averbukh is being held at the MMPC MIA «Russia Today». Medvedeva plays the main role in the New Year's ice show «Cow on Ice» staged by Averbukh.
“»I can call myself an “artist”, a “creator” thanks to Averbukh and Tarasova. This is self-realization, a change in personality for the better. As for “Cow on Ice”, it was an intrigue for us too. At first we thought it was joke. And then it became interesting who would be who. I won’t reveal the secrets yet. Ilya has been doing the show for 20 years. I just went on the ice 20 years ago. As they already said, I’m part of a big family, but it’s still a small part. I’m watching Alexey Yagudin and I understand that you can skate for a long time. I hope our cooperation with Ilya will last for many decades,» Medvedeva told reporters.
«Zhenya has a multifaceted role, quite complex. She must change in each of the numbers and from a princess on ice become tired, capricious, somewhere desperate,» Averbukh commented on the role of Medvedeva.
