US President Joe Biden will adopt a decree on December 22 banning the import into the country of Russian non-industrial diamonds that have been processed in other countries. Representatives of the White House reported this.

The same restrictive measures will soon be introduced by the European Union authorities, the source informed.

We are talking about those stones that were produced in Russia, but were subjected to changes in another country. If, for example, a Russian company sends diamonds for processing to another country, then they cannot be imported to the United States.

The American authorities introduced a ban on the import of Russian non-industrial diamonds back in 2022. Europe set such a limit only at the end of December 2023.
