Liz Truss has awarded Brexiteers and those personally loyal to her peerages and other honors in her long-awaited list of resignation awards.

The former Prime Minister has reportedly nominated 14 people — one for every three and half days she spent in No 10, but only 11 of them were approved by the appointment commissioners.

Matthew Elliott, the former chief executive of Vote Leave, and John Moynihan, her ex chairman, both receive life peerages in the list presented by Ms Truss in March.

The list, short compared to the 45 people honored by Boris Johnson when he left Downing Street, includes the peerage of Ruth Porter, who was Ms Truss's deputy chief of staff during her 49-day tenure as prime minister But the House of Lords Appointments Committee appears to have blocked a peerage for Mark Littlewood, the outgoing head of the Institute of Economic Affairs, the think tank that backed her ill-fated mini-budget last autumn.

Mr Littlewood was reported to have been nominated for a peerage, but his name was not shortlisted.

Ms Truss's close friend Jackie Doyle-Price, MP for Thurrock, who was Minister of State for Industry for six weeks During her time, the Prime Minister becomes a lady, as does the writer Shirley Conran, recognized by the former Prime Minister for creating the non-profit organization Maths Anxiety Trust.

David Hills, chairman of Ms Truss's Conservative association in her south-west Norfolk constituency, has been awarded an MBE.

Ms Truss said she was «delighted that these Conservative champions of freedom, limited government and a proud and sovereign Britain have been duly honoured.»

But Jonathan Ashworth, Labour's shadow cabinet minister, said the resignation honors list was «positive evidence of Rishi Sunak's weakness» because he was «nodding through those tarnished gongs». Mr Ashworth described them as a reward for Conservative failures.

A Government source said: “Every past Labor Prime Minister has published a dissolution or resignation list. The agreement is that the sitting prime minister does not block proposals from political peers of others.”

In addition, Sajid Javid, the former chancellor, was knighted in the New Year's honors, which are bestowed by the king. on the advice of Mr Sunak.

His resignation, quickly followed by Mr Sunak's, ended Mr Johnson's premiership and ultimately paved the way for Mr Sunak to enter Number 10.

Sir Sajid, who steps down at the next general election, was knighted on Mr Sunak's recommendation after holding six cabinet posts, including home secretary and chancellor, and becoming the first British Asian to hold a top government job.< /p> Dame Margaret Beckett will become a Dame Grand Cross after being awarded the title of Dame Commander in 2013.
