MOSCOW, December 31, Alena Sulizova. Two-time Olympic champion in Biathlon Svetlana Ishmuratova said that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and sports federations themselves will invite Russian athletes to international competitions.
The IOC previously announced the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to the Olympic Games in Paris in an individual neutral status, subject to a number of criteria. According to the decision of the executive committee, neutral athletes and their personnel must refrain from any activity related to the national flag, anthem, emblem or any other symbol of the Russian Federation, Belarus, national federations or Olympic committees, as well as from supporting the CBO at any official event or in the media before, during and after the Olympic Games. The Olympics in the French capital will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
«»Naturally, the USA and its satellites will prolong this situation as long as possible. Now our guys just have to win the SVO, then the situation will change dramatically. We will last in this state for another year, and then we will have to win our missing Olympic medals. The IOC and federations themselves will invite and ask to participate in many competitions. I think we need to wait for this moment and perform with the anthem, and with the flag, and everything as we love,» Ishmuratova said.
