The flagship JAC T9 frame pickup truck is officially heading to Russia

Apparently, it was decided to bring a pre-reform truck to the Russian Federation. For our version, one motor has been announced so far.

The Russian office of JAC announced a new product on its pages on social networks: the flagship T9 frame pickup truck is coming to us. In China, the model debuted in 2020, where it is known as the Hunter (by the way, we sell the Changan Hunter and, of course, the UAZ Hunter), the truck is the brother of the JAC T8 Pro, which reached the Russian Federation last year, and the JAC T6, which has yet to be presented (the younger pickup truck is now assembled in Vladivostok under the Sollers brand). Last year, the flagship underwent restyling, however, judging by the picture that accompanies the announcement, the pre-reform model will be brought to Russia. Well, we note that the T9 has already appeared in some local sellers: we are talking about “parallel” machines.

A version with a length of 5330 mm and a wheelbase of 3400 mm has been announced for the Russian Federation. However, it is possible that the indicators were mixed up: in China, the stretched base version has a length of 5620 mm, while the more compact version has a distance between the axles of 3110 mm.

Be that as it may, the legal Russian JAC T9 is promised a 2.0 turbo engine with 231 hp. (JAC did not specify the type of fuel, but, apparently, it is a gasoline engine), eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. In other countries, the model is also available with a 2.4 petrol turbo engine and a 2.0 turbodiesel engine; in addition, hybrid and all-electric versions are also being prepared for some markets.

The list of equipment for the pickup truck intended for Russia will include a leather interior, climate control, parking sensors, and all-round cameras review, “winter” package, wireless charging for smartphones and electrically adjustable seats.

The price of the JAC T9 has not yet been announced, as well as the exact start date of sales. Since this is a flagship, it will obviously be more expensive than the JAC T8 Pro, which according to the price list today costs from 3,199,000 rubles.

Meanwhile, this year JAC plans to introduce several more new products to the Russian market, but the remaining models have not yet been officially named.
