On Thursday morning, a gas explosion followed by a fire occurred in a one-story private house on Gazoprovodnaya Street in Makhachkala. A family of five was injured: three children and their parents, all of whom received extensive burns. Children aged two and four years old died earlier; The adults and a 5-year-old child remained in the burn center of the Republican Clinical Hospital in extremely serious condition.

Based on the incident, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case for violation of fire safety requirements. The Ministry of Energy of the Republic reported that the house was unauthorizedly connected with hose connections to a gas pipeline, resulting in a gas leak.
