MOSCOW, February 2 Figure skater Kamila Valieva reacted to the appearance of banners in her support in Moscow after the athlete's four-year disqualification was announced for violating anti-doping rules.
““Thank you to everyone who is nearby, to everyone who supports,” Valieva wrote in her Telegram channel.
On Monday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) suspended Valieva for four years for violating anti-doping rules and invalidated her results in competitions from December 25, 2021. The Russian Olympic Committee, in response to the CAS verdict in the Valieva case, stated that “war has been declared on Russian sport.” The Russian Figure Skating Federation reported that it strongly disagrees with the decision.
