ROSTOV-ON-DON, February 9 The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention until April 7, 2024 for a man previously convicted of pedophilia who stalked two little girls in Rostov-on-Don, the SUSK press service for the region reported.
“The court granted the investigator’s request to select a preventive measure in the form of detention for a man involved in crimes against sexual integrity,” the statement says. It is clarified that the person involved in the case has been placed in a pre-trial detention center until April 7, 2024 inclusive, and charges have been brought against him.
Earlier in Rostov, a strange man chased a schoolgirl and tried to follow her into the entrance of a multi-storey building on Orbitalnaya Street 70/2. A local resident noticed this and scared the unknown person away. After the police received a statement from local residents, the man was detained; he turned out to be a 40-year-old resident of the Aksai district of the Rostov region.
Investigators opened a criminal case against a man on suspicion of attempted indecent assault against two young girls (Part 3 of Article 30, Part 3 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). It is clarified that the man was previously prosecuted for committing a similar crime.
As follows from the SUSC release, the suspect that day was not only pursuing the girl he was trying to get into the building. There was another minor who managed to run into her apartment, hiding from her pursuer.
Thanks to a video recording of a man, which spread on social networks, and “the actions of concerned citizens,” the attacker was detained at home.
