MOSCOW, February 10 Club of the National Hockey League (NHL) The Toronto Maple Leafs are interested in Spartak Moscow forward Maxim Tsyplakov, The Athletic reports, citing the player's agent Alexander Chernykh.
According to the player’s representative, he and Tsyplakov last week had a conversation with club representatives via video link, which lasted almost an hour. Among the topics discussed was Tsyplakov's positional fit with Toronto and whether he could play center next season.
Chernykh reported that at least 12 NHL teams have expressed interest in signing the forward for next season.
Tsyplakov is 25 years old. He made his debut in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in 2017 with Spartak. This season, the forward took part in 58 matches, in which he scored 45 points (30 goals + 15 assists). Tsyplakov surpassed personal records in scoring and goals scored, and also repeated the achievement in assists. His agreement with Spartak runs until the end of the 2023/24 season.
