The fact that the Chinese brand VGV will enter the Russian market was officially announced at the end of 2023. The history of the creation of the Kolesa.ru brand has already been told, so we will not dwell on this, let us only recall that today it is owned by the Sinotruk Group concern (aka CNHTC), a large manufacturer of heavy trucks and other commercial equipment. As part of last year's announcement, the distributor VGV said that at the first stage we would have two large crossovers, but their names were not disclosed then. However, it was not difficult to guess, because the global line of the brand consists of only three models. However, today VGV separately announced SUVs: the U70 Pro and U75 Plus are preparing for the start of Russian sales.

In fact, these are two varieties of the same car; they differ from each other in the design of the front end, interior and technology. The crossovers have general dimensions: length – 4825 mm, width – 1870 mm, height – 1691 mm, wheelbase – 2800 mm. That is, in size the VGV U70 Pro and U75 Plus are comparable to the Kia Sorento. The declared ground clearance of the “Chinese” is 200 mm. Both models come with both a five- and seven-seater interior.

The VGV U70 Pro is equipped with a 1.5 petrol turbo-four with a power of 143 hp. (in China – 156 hp), the Russian version is promised “various transmission options.” At home, this cross is presented with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Under the hood of the VGV U75 Plus there is a 2.0 petrol turbo engine with a power of 199 hp. (in Chinese specification — 224 hp), which is combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In any case, the drive is only front-wheel drive.

It is reported that the crossovers have been adapted to Russian conditions. Our versions are promised “all possible heating” and “advanced safety systems”, as well as “attractive prices”. But the price list has not yet been published, there is no exact date for the start of sales, as well as a list of dealers.

Meanwhile, in the future VGV plans to expand the line with new models of “different purposes, sizes and body shapes.” The third premiere of the brand will apparently be the VX7 passenger pickup, which is a mixture of the U70 Pro and U75 Plus. The remaining models remain a mystery for now.
