The “green” Baojun microvan received a new emblem and nameplates. The model is available with two battery options to choose from.
The Baojun Yunduo electric microvan with an unusual appearance debuted in China last year. And now it has a twin in Indonesia: as part of the Indonesia International Motor Show that opened yesterday, the Wuling Cloud EV model was shown. Let us remind you that the Baojun and Wuling brands are part of a joint venture between General Motors and SAIC. By the way, from Chinese the word yunduo can be translated as “cloud” — this is exactly cloud in English.

Externally, Wuling and Baojun electric cars differ only in emblems and nameplates. Design features include a streamlined body, a protruding bumper with built-in main headlight units, a diode strip of running lights located on top and compact rear lights, which are interconnected by a luminous plate. The dimensions of the Wuling Cloud EV have not yet been revealed, however, they are probably the same as those of the Baojun Yunduo: length — 4295 mm, width — 1850 mm, height — 1652 mm, wheelbase — 2700 mm.

Inside, the cars also repeat each other, except, of course, for the location of the steering wheel (in Indonesia, driving is on the left). There are separate screens for the instrument panel and multimedia system, quilted upholstery and wood-look inserts. The rest of the equipment of Cloud EV has not yet been announced. The original Baojun includes wireless charging for a smartphone, an electric tailgate, side airbags and curtain airbags, all-round cameras, cruise control, parking assistant, blind spot monitoring and lane marking monitoring systems.

In Indonesia, two versions are announced for Wuling Cloud EV — with a power reserve of 460 or 505 km. But there is no information about the batteries or the electric motor. Most likely, like the Baojun Yunduo, a 136-horsepower engine is installed on the front axle. The original microvan in China also has two batteries — with a capacity of 37.9 or 50.6 kWh, range — 360 and 460 km, respectively (according to the CLTC cycle).

Wuling Cloud EV will enter the Indonesian market before the end of this year, while local media believe that buyers will be offered locally assembled electric cars. Meanwhile, Wuling already sells “greens” in Indonesia – and also locally produced. The strange Air city car and the stylish Binguo hatchback are presented there.
