England center Henry Slade is set to sign a new contract to remain at Exeter Chiefs despite ongoing uncertainty surrounding extended contracts with the elite rugby union side.
Slade is one of England's most prominent players whose contract expires at the end of the season. After being left out of Steve Borthwick's World Cup squad, the 30-year-old was heavily linked with joining England, who were in the top 14 in France, and took part in the Six Nations campaign after admitting he wanted to keep his options open open.
However, following England's opening victories over Italy and Wales, Telegraph Sport understands Slade appears willing to commit his future to remaining at Sandy Park to continue his bid for England selection. The news is a boost for both Exeter and Borthwick, who lost more than a quarter of their World Cup squad to French clubs.
