The presentation of the French brand's SUV will take place next month. The company is currently keeping information about the technology of the future model secret.
The Peugeot brand began producing a model with the index 5008 in 2009, and initially it was a mid-size MPV. As part of the generation change that took place in 2017, the “French” became a crossover; It underwent restyling in 2020. Now the French manufacturer is developing a new generation Peugeot 5008 and for now is keeping the appearance of the future new product secret. But the interior was declassified using a short video teaser.
Peugeot e-5008 interior teaser
It is known that the Peugeot 5008 will also have an all-electric version with its own name – e-5008. Previously, we published renderings of future new products – both with internal combustion engines and with completely “green” technology. Whether fantasies coincide with reality will become known after the manufacturer declassifies the appearance of the model, but in the meantime you can study the interior of the next crossover highlighted in the teaser.
The interior of the seven-seater SUV of the French brand is designed approximately the same as that of the new Peugeot 3008, which debuted last year. On the front panel you can see a large curved display with a diagonal of 21 inches. The left half of this screen is the virtual instrument cluster, while the right half is the touchscreen for the infotainment system. Let us remember that the 3008 has a pair of separate 10-inch displays installed in simpler versions.
Judging by the steering wheel shown, the teaser showed the interior of the “heated” version of the GT. The chairs of this design are trimmed with leather and suede. The multifunction steering wheel itself, “flattened” on both sides, has touch buttons that are activated when pressed, not when touched (this will allow the driver to avoid false positives).
There is no official information about the “filling” of the new Peugeot 5008 and e-5008 yet. It is possible that they will share the engine range with the Peugeot 3008 and e-3008, respectively. As a reminder, these models share the STLA Medium platform from the extensive Stellantis portfolio. According to preliminary data, crossovers with internal combustion engines may be equipped with a mild hybrid system, which will be based on a 136-horsepower 1.2-liter engine; in addition, it is worth waiting for a variant with a PHEV installation.
A completely “green” version of Peugeot The e-5008 will likely come in several versions. The base version can be equipped with a single electric motor on the front axle with a power of 213 hp. and a traction battery with a capacity of 73 kWh. In the average version, the electric motor on the front axle can produce 241 hp, and the battery capacity is 98 kWh. The top-end “e-5008th” may receive a dual-engine unit, the total output of which is 326 hp. jpg» />
The brand’s press center noted that details about the interior and exterior of the Peugeot e-5008 will be revealed in March. We will find out later what the price tags for the new products will be. The current “5008th” on the home market, in France, can now be bought for a minimum of 38,120 euros, and the cost of the top version is 48,570 euros.
