MOSCOW, February 27, Andrey Mikhailov. Fans purchased 4 thousand tickets for a friendly match between the national teams of Russia and Serbia within an hour from the start of sales, the communications service of the Russian Football Union (RFU) reported.
The Russian national team will play a friendly match with the Serbian team on March 21 in Moscow at the Dynamo stadium. Sales started on the afternoon of February 27, the cheapest tickets cost 500 rubles.
““4,000 tickets were sold in the first hour,” the RFU communications service reported.
The International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) published a joint statement in February 2022, according to which Russian national teams and clubs were suspended from participation in international competitions due to the events in Ukraine. In total, after the sanctions began, the Russian national team played 11 friendly matches (four wins, six draws, one defeat). The game against the Serbs will be the first for the Russian national team against a team from Europe since November 2021.
