A three-year-old child was hit by a freight train in Buryatia

ULAN-UDE, March 2 In Buryatia, at the Tankhoi station in the Kabansky district, a three-year-old child was hit and killed by a freight train, reports the Eastern Interregional Investigation Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation .
“»It has been previously established that on March 2, 2023, at the Tankhoi station in the Kabansky district of the Republic of Buryatia, a young child was fatally injured by a train. The causes and circumstances of the incident are being established,» the report says.

According to the unified duty dispatch service of the Kabansky district of Buryatia, the child was crossing the railway with his grandmother, she is alive.

A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence).
The Transport Prosecutor's Office began an investigation into the incident. If there are grounds, prosecutorial response measures will be taken.
