Autotech: Nissan Rogue has become the most popular model from foreign salvage auctions

Experts from Autoteka (Avito Auto project), online car inspection service with mileage, analyzed data on registrations with the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate in 2023 and found out which cars from the mass market segment, registered for the first time in the Russian Federation, most often participated in emergency car auctions before being imported into Russia. The most popular model in the mass market segment was the Nissan Rogue.

As part of the study, the statistics of cars first registered in the Russian Federation in 2023 were analyzed. The data for calculating the share of cars participating in US salvage auctions was taken from Avtotek's own database.

Cars in the mass market segment often become the subject of resale. Autotech offers clients a wide range of tools that allow them to analyze a potential purchase from different angles. One of the criteria for analysis is the car’s participation in salvage auctions. According to the results of the Avtoteka study, more than 40,200 cars were registered in 2023 , purchased at foreign emergency auctions. Most often, such cars were brought from the USA.

The first place in the list of the most popular mass-market models that took part in American salvage auctions was taken by the Nissan Rogue with a share of 89%.

The second position was occupied by the Kia Forte model with a share of 72%. Third place is Dodge Challenger with a share of 71%. In fourth place is the Chevrolet Equinox (61%), in fifth is the Chevrolet Malibu (54%).
