ROSTOV-ON-DON, April 4 Investigators have sent a criminal case to court against a resident of the Rostov region, accused of trying to blow up traffic police inspectors with a live grenade, he told reporters representative of SUSK Russia for the region.
According to the investigation, in June 2023, traffic police inspectors stopped a resident of the Veselovsky district who was drunk. An administrative document was drawn up against him under an article of the Code of Administrative Offenses regarding the driver’s failure to comply with the requirement to undergo a medical examination for intoxication.
«Being dissatisfied with the actions of the traffic police inspectors, he attempted to activate the live grenade he had on him. The illegal actions of the attacker were stopped by police officers,» said a representative of the department.
A live fragmentation hand grenade was also seized from the man’s home. He was taken into custody. A criminal case was initiated under articles of encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer and illegal acquisition and storage of explosive devices.
«Currently, the investigation has collected a sufficient evidence base, and therefore the criminal case with the approved indictment has been transferred to the court for consideration on the merits,» added the regional Investigative Committee.
