Avito Auto experts analyzed the dynamics of sales of used cars in the first quarter of 2024 of the year. According to experts, in January — March of this year, sales on the market were approximately at the level of the same period last year. The average price of used cars in the first quarter of 2024 increased by 14.3% compared to the fourth quarter of 2023 and reached 800,000 rubles.
According to the platform data, the sales leaders among the brands were (in descending order of share in sales): VAZ (LADA), Toyota, Kia, Hyundai and Volkswagen. The share of domestic VAZ (LADA) models accounted for 22% of sales in the used car market.
In terms of overall sales in the Russian Federation, the price segment up to 1.5 million rubles traditionally leads. However, according to our data, over the past year, sales figures in different price categories have changed noticeably. Thus, sales of cars with mileage up to 1.5 million rubles in January — March of this year decreased by 10.8% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the total sales volume of cars costing from 1.5 to 3 million rubles increased by 38.9% year-on-year, and in the price segment over 3 million rubles — by 73.8%. Avito Auto experts compiled ratings of the best-selling used cars for the first quarter of 2024 in three price segments: up to 1.5 million rubles, from 1.5 to 3 million rubles and over 3 million rubles. Some models entered the top 10 in terms of sales in several price segments at once, since they are purchased both in practically new condition and with high mileage, which affects the cost of the car.
Best selling used cars worth more than 3 million rubles
The ranking of the best-selling used cars with an average cost of three million rubles in January — March of this year is headed by the Geely Monjaro. In second place is the Toyota Camry, followed by the BMW X5 and BMW 5 Series. In fifth place is the Toyota Land Cruiser.

In the price segment from one and a half to three million rubles, the rating of the best-selling used cars is headed by Toyota Camry. Hyundai Creta and Kia Sportage shared second place. The top five leaders in popularity in this price range are rounded out by the Hyundai Solaris and Toyota RAV4.
