The compact SUV has been radically transformed on the outside. According to preliminary data, the equipment was not changed: the range includes gasoline and diesel engines.
The Indian company Mahindra has announced a new crossover XUV 3XO (with the letter “o”). The manufacturer itself has so far distributed only a few teasers and announced the presentation date — April 29. At the same time, local specialized media are confident that the new index hides the XUV300 SUV after a radical restyling.
Let us remind you that the Mahindra XUV300 cross was launched in India in 2019, it was created on the basis of the SsangYong Tivoli (the Korean brand previously belonged to Mahindra, today it has a different owner and a different name — KG Mobility). The 3995 mm long SUV (such cars are entitled to tax incentives in India) has generally taken root in the market, but it lags far behind its competitors. Last year, 59,315 XUV300 cars were sold at home (-2% compared to 2022), while the Kia Sonet sold 79,776 units (-8%), the result of the Suzuki Maruti Fronx was 94,393 units (2023 became the debut year for the model), Hyundai Venue – 129,278 units (+7%). In general, with the XUV 3XO, the company apparently decided to start from scratch in the subcompact segment, popular among Indians.

Judging by the teasers, the crossover will have a fashionable appearance. The Mahindra XUV 3XO will receive vertical headlight units with broken LED “horseshoe” daytime running lights, and the new rear lights will be united by a luminous plate. The radiator grille and bumpers will also be different. Photo spies previously looked into the cabin; a new front panel and multimedia system will be installed inside, and a large tablet will rise above the panel (the XUV300 has a screen built into it).

Indian media believe that the Mahindra XUV 3XO will inherit the technology from the XUV30 0. The “three hundredth” range now includes 1.2 TCMPFi (110 hp) and 1.2 TGDi (130 hp) petrol turbo engines, as well as a 1.5 turbodiesel (117 hp). The engines are combined with a six-speed manual or robotic gearbox. However, the XUV 3XO seems to have a technical update — it is predicted to have a classic six-speed Aisin automatic transmission. The drive will remain exclusively front-wheel drive. Note that the XUV300 still has a pure electric variant, but it is considered a separate model of the Mahindra XUV400. It is likely that the electric car will also be updated and renamed later.
The price of the outgoing Mahindra XUV300 varies from 799,000 to 1,300,500 rupees, which is equivalent to approximately 885,000 — 1,440,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. This SUV is also exported, but a left-hand drive version never appeared.
