The artist's wife warned about possible suicide

Police officers are checking information about the death of the famous singer, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Evgeny Kungurov. A corpse was found at his place of residence.

As MK learned, on Monday evening Kungurov’s wife contacted law enforcement agencies. She explained that she herself was in a country house. The woman received a text message from her husband in which he wrote that he was going to commit suicide and that she would find him in the bathroom the next morning. The lady asked to urgently go to the apartment on Zoologicheskaya Street and check the information.

At 21.40, law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and actually found the body of a man at the indicated address. His identity and cause of death are being established.

It is known that the artist suffered from depression and was seen by a private doctor.

Evgeny Kungurov is a soloist of the Kaliningrad Musical Theater, co-host of the “Romance of a Romance” program. In October 2023, he was awarded the title “Honored Artist of Russia.”
