MOSCOW, April 11 The farewell ceremony for the Honored Artist of Russia, opera singer Evgeny Kungurov began at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow, the correspondent reports.
After the farewell in the capital, according to the press service of the municipal administration of the Sverdlovsk region, a farewell to Kungurov is planned in the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God in the city of Zarechny on April 13 at 12.00 (10.00 Moscow time). The artist’s funeral will take place there, in his homeland.
Kungurov was born in Zarechny on July 18, 1983. In 2022, he became a permanent soloist of the Kaliningrad Musical Theater, and in January 2023 he received a letter of gratitude from the President of the Russian Federation for his active participation in the socio-political life of Russian society and his special contribution. Kungurov is an Honored Artist of Russia.
According to a law enforcement source, Kungurov’s body was found on Monday evening near a residential building on Zoologicheskaya Street in the center of Moscow. According to preliminary data, the singer committed suicide.
