On April 16, 2024, Tomsk State University will host the conference “Science without borders. Siberia Takes on the Challenge”, which is intended to become the main event of the year for the scientific community of the Siberian Federal District and serve as an incentive for the formation of clear motivation and desire of young scientists, researchers and developers to connect their lives with science and technology to solve the most important problems of the development of society and the country.
The central theme of the event will be the existing measure of support and popularization of scientific research, the contribution of scientists to the creation of technologies of the future – the National Prize in the field of future technologies “Challenge”.
During the conference, participants will discuss measures to prevent the isolation of Russian science and preserve international dialogue, the need to build new contacts and make changes to the map of scientific cooperation. Existing strategies in science and their improvement will also be discussed in close cooperation with the economic sector in order to ensure technological leadership of domestic developments, support fundamental scientific discoveries, develop international scientific cooperation to solve global problems and form a model of protected space and trust in the scientific community.
At the conference, participants will have the opportunity to hear visionary lectures by leading Russian scientists and business representatives.

- Alexey Fedorov, head of the scientific group “Quantum Information Technologies” of the Russian Quantum Center, director of the Institute of Physics and Quantum Engineering at MISIS University, deputy chairman of the scientific committee of the “Challenge” award;
- Ilya Semerikov, Ph.D. -mathematical sciences, deputy head of the scientific group of the Russian Quantum Center, researcher at the Physical Institute named after. P. N. Lebedeva RAS, laureate of the “Challenge” prize in the “Perspective” category.

The conference is timed to coincide with the Decade of Science and Technology announced in 2022 by the President of the Russian Federation. The mission of the Challenge Foundation is aimed at creating an expert community in the field of future technologies, forming public opinion leaders from among scientists, popularizing science and technological achievements, and maintaining a sustainable international scientific dialogue. The event was organized by the Foundation for the Development of Scientific and Cultural Relations “Challenge” together with Tomsk State University with the support of the University Consortium of Big Data Researchers.
