MOSCOW, April 13 Doctors plan to transfer People’s Artist of the RSFSR Yuri Kuklachev from intensive care to a regular ward on Sunday if his condition is stable, said the artist’s representative Olga Cardokene.
Earlier, Kuklachev’s son, Honored Artist of Russia, artistic director of the Kuklachev Cat Theater, Dmitry Kuklachev, said that the artist was feeling better and was giving advice on further holding the anniversary show “The Kindest Clown” at Vegas City Hall on April 13 and 14 without his participation, so that continued. Kuklachev fell ill on Friday at his anniversary concert “The Kindest Clown” at Vegas City Hall; he was taken away in an ambulance with heart complaints, the artist’s son said. The general director of the Great Moscow Circus on Vernadsky Avenue, Edgard Zapashny, reported that Kuklachev is in serious but stable condition, he has a massive heart attack.

Russian clown and trainer, People's Artist of the RSFSR Kuklachev was born on April 12, 1949. Since 1967 he performed at the Moscow Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard. In 1971 he graduated from the State School of Circus and Variety Arts. Since 1990 he has run his own theater of trained cats. He became the first Russian director of circus acts with trained cats. The theater has received many international awards, including the Gold Cup and the title of «The Most Original Theater in the World», received during its Paris tour. The life and work of Yuri Kuklachev are dedicated to the documentaries “With a Kind Smile” (1980, directed by Yuri Dubravin) and “The Cat and the Clown” (1984, Sergei Vologdin).
