JSC JSCB NOVIKOMBANK, the supporting bank of the Rostec state corporation, acted as a partner of the National Technological Olympiad (NTO), the largest engineering competition in Russia for technology-oriented schoolchildren and students. The winners included the best projects in the fields of unmanned technologies: “Autonomous transport systems”, “Unmanned aircraft systems” and “Flying robotics”. The authors of the ideas received certificates with denominations ranging from 100 thousand to 250 thousand rubles. from the hands of Deputy Chairman of the Board of Novikombank Alexey Kuznetsov.
The award ceremony for the winners of profiles dedicated to unmanned technologies took place in Moscow on Cosmonautics Day. The choice of profiles is not accidental: the development of unmanned technologies is a strategically important area for the country. On behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the national project “Unmanned Aviation Systems” was launched, which determines the development strategy for unmanned aircraft for the period up to 2030-2035.
Applications for participation in the NTO were submitted this year more than 140 thousand schoolchildren and students from all regions of Russia and a number of foreign countries. The winners included 25 projects developed by students in grades 9–11 from the Amur, Moscow, Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Tomsk regions, the Republic of Crimea and St. Petersburg.
Thus, schoolchildren from the Novosibirsk region developed and tested a fully autonomous multimodal system for delivering goods without human intervention. The system can provide automated sorting of goods and their logistics to the recipient using a drone. Also among the winners was a UAV control system for delivering medical equipment and medicines to hard-to-reach places and a project for automated monitoring of urban construction sites and infrastructure using a quadcopter.
“Unmanned technologies are involved in all areas of life – from delivering goods and searching for minerals to protecting the security of our country. These are technologies of the future that are already being implemented today at Rostec enterprises. I am sure that many of the participants in today’s Olympiad will find use of their talents at the enterprises of the state corporation in the near future. Novikombank, as a supporting bank of Rostec, is happy to support aspiring engineers and emphasize that their knowledge and skills are worthy of high praise. And our prizes will help them on their educational and professional path,” said Deputy Chairman of the Board of Novikombank Alexey Kuznetsov.
The National Technology Olympiad is an all-Russian technological games for schoolchildren in a wide range of areas, from artificial intelligence to genome editing, space technology and computer game development. NTO is carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation together with the ANO “Russia – the Land of Opportunities” and with the support of the “Movement of the First”, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and the ANO “NTI Platform”. The NTO project office is deployed on the basis of the National Research University Higher School of Economics with methodological support from the Association of Technology Circle Participants (NTI Circle Movement). Olympiad diplomas give schoolchildren the opportunity to receive 100 points on the Unified State Examination in a core subject or to enter leading universities in Russia without entrance examinations.
