Ten more energy workers were detained in Dagestan in connection with theft

MAKHACHKALA, April 25 Law enforcement officers detained ten more heads of Dagenergo divisions in Dagestan in connection with the theft of 2.8 billion rubles, a source in the company said on Thursday «Rosseti Northern Caucasus».
“Another 10 heads of structural divisions of Dagenergo were detained in connection with the theft of 2.8 billion rubles,” the source said.

Earlier in Dagestan, 26 power engineers were detained and arrested in connection with the theft of 2.8 billion rubles as part of an organized criminal group, including Dagenergo director Magomedhabib Mukhumaev and his deputy Amirakhmed Zurkanaev. Thus, the total number of defendants reached 36.

According to the case materials, from 2010 to 2021, the defendants, using their official position, in an organized group stole at least 2.8 billion rubles belonging to PJSC Rosseti and PJSC IDGC of the North Caucasus. They did this by inflating the volume and cost of work and materials when creating a comprehensive electricity metering system with automated data collection on the territory of Dagestan.
A source in Rosseti Northern Caucasus previously reported that a “global cleanup” is being carried out in the structures of Dagenergo at the command of the federal center.
