KEMEROVO, May 3. Investigators in Kansk have found the killer of an 11-year-old girl who disappeared 18 years ago, reports the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia.

A 42-year-old resident of Norilsk has been charged with the murder of a minor. «, the message says.

According to the investigation, in April 2006, law enforcement agencies received a statement from a resident of Kansk about the unknown disappearance of her 11-year-old daughter. A criminal case was opened on this fact, however, due to the failure to identify the person involved in her disappearance, the preliminary investigation into the criminal case was suspended.

In 2024, as part of the work to investigate crimes of past years, investigators, criminologists and operational police officers re-analyzed the materials of the criminal case and developed a detailed plan of investigative actions.
A psychologist from the Main Department of Criminalistics of the Investigative Committee carried out work on memory activation with one of the witnesses. The woman explained that in 2006 she saw a missing girl with an unknown man and woman in a store. According to the witness, a sketch of the woman was compiled and her location was subsequently established. She testified that among her acquaintances was a 24-year-old resident of Kansk.
Investigators, criminologists and operational officers established the man’s involvement in the murder of the girl.

“It was established that on April 10, 2006, the accused brought a girl he knew to one of the abandoned houses in the city of Kansk, where he strangled her. He hid the victim’s body in the underground of the house,” the department clarifies.

It is noted that the accused is in custody, he admitted guilt in the murder of a child.
The criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor for approval of the indictment and subsequent referral to court for consideration on the merits.
