MOSCOW, May 7. The Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow arrested the former director of the Federal Center for Analysis and Assessment of Technogenic Impact Vladislav Novikov in the case of abuse of official powers (Article 285 of the Criminal Code RF), which led to grave consequences, the court reported.
“The court granted the investigation’s request and chose a preventive measure for Vladislav Novikov in the form of detention,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
< br />For abuse of power, resulting in grave consequences, the man faces up to 10 years in prison.
Previously headed by Novikov, the center is part of the structure of Rosprirodnadzor, providing “a full range of services to legal entities and individuals in the field of environmental protection, working throughout the Russian Federation,” as stated on its website.
As follows from open sources, Novikov headed the center for some time and also served as deputy director.
