MOSCOW, May 8. Representatives of the military registration and enlistment office in western Ukraine mobilized directly at the station of one of the main players of the local football team «Khust» Nikolai Sirash, the championship is on the verge of failure, the football club reported.
“Nikolai Sirash, one of the main players of FC Khust, was taken directly from the city station on May 7 by employees of the TCC (territorial recruitment center, military registration and enlistment office — ed.) and taken to the military registration and enlistment office. At the time of his arrest, the football player was 25 years old, although the law had not yet come into force the famous Khust TCC has its own rules for the illegal detention of people. There is no contact with the football player at the moment. The further fate is unknown,” says a message published on the social network Facebook*.
As the club noted, the Ukrainian championship is on the verge of failure because teams refuse to go to Khust for fear of being mobilized. The FC turned to the chairman of the Ukrainian Football Association Andrey Shevchenko, the chairman of the professional football league Alexander Kadenko, and the regional authorities with a request to respond to the situation.
A martial law regime has been introduced in Ukraine since February 24, 2022; the next day, Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. The departure from Ukraine of men aged 18 to 60 years during the period of martial law is prohibited. Evasion from military service during mobilization is subject to criminal liability in the country, which carries a penalty of up to five years in prison. The summons can be served in different places. Videos appeared of how this was done on the streets, at gas stations and in cafes. It does not necessarily have to be presented by a representative of the military registration and enlistment office — this can also be done by the managers of the enterprise where the conscript works, the heads of the housing office, representatives of the house committee and other officials.
