The new crossover of the Avatr brand from Changan has dropped its camouflage

Previously it was assumed that this SUV of the Chinese brand would be called Avatr 15, but the model has an index from the top ten: we meet Avatr 07.

The young Avatr brand is the result of a partnership between Changan, IT giant Huawei, and battery manufacturer CATL. The first model of this brand was the electric crossover Avatr 11, which appeared on the Chinese market in 2022. A year later, the line was replenished with the completely “green” Avatr 12 sedan. At the beginning of this month, an expansion of the range was announced: then the first photos of the future new product appeared, but it was hidden using camouflage film. Now another crossover has gotten rid of camouflage and revealed its name.

Previously, the Chinese media predicted the name Avatr 15 for the new product, but now it has become known that the model will appear at dealers with a different index — Avatr 07. Judging by the pictures, the crossover prototype, which has gotten rid of its camouflage, is designed in accordance with the brand name brand style. It has body contours similar to the firstborn, and the head optics are designed in a similar way.

Optics include “hashes” at the top, as well as “C-shaped” travel high arc lights and main headlight units housed inside LED brackets. Avatr 07 also has a relatively small air intake with an unusual design integrated into the lower part of the front bumper, and a lidar is visible at the top of the electric car.

The profile of the prototype of the future new Avatr is decorated with embossed wheel arches, original 21-inch wheels, retractable door handles, as well as cameras that are located in place of the exterior mirrors. The SUV has no roof rails; the upper part of the tailgate is crowned with a laconic spoiler with an integrated brake light. The lanterns are designed in the form of two narrow horizontal stripes, between which the brand logo is located.

According to local media, Avatr 07 length is 4825 mm (55 mm less compared to Avatr 11), width – 1980 mm (10 mm more), height – 1620 mm (19 mm more); and the distance between the axles of the new product is 2940 mm, which is 35 mm less than that of its “big brother”. » />

The company is keeping the interior of the new package secret for now. It is expected that it will borrow a lot from the Avatr 12, including a horizontally elongated 35.4-inch display, part of which acts as a virtual tidy, as well as a separate 15.6-inch multimedia touchscreen; most likely with the current operating system HarmonyOS 4.0 from Huawei.

According to preliminary data, Avatr The 07 will be offered both as a full electric vehicle and with a hybrid powertrain. In the second case, the internal combustion engine will likely act as a generator for CATL's next-generation lithium iron phosphate battery. Details about the technology will most likely appear closer to the official premiere of the new product, which is scheduled for the third quarter of this year. It is expected that the price of the crossover in the domestic market will vary from 250 to 350 thousand yuan (equivalent to approximately 3.2 — 4.4 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
