The new SUV is still certified as an electric car, but later the model may well receive a hybrid setup. Well, the purely “green” SUV will be available in mono- or all-wheel drive.
Spy photos of a camouflaged SUV from the premium brand Voyah were posted online at the beginning of this year, and now certification images have appeared in the database of the Ministry of Industry of the People's Republic of China. Judging by the nameplate on the rear, the five-door will enter the home market under the name Zhiyin, which can be translated from Chinese as Soulmate (“soul mate” or “like-minded person”). Let us remind you that the Voyah brand belongs to the Dongfeng concern, and exclusively electrified cars are produced under it. The new crossover will become the fourth model in the range: it will join the Free SUV, the Dreamer minivan (in Russia it’s Dream) and the Passion sedan (aka Zhuiguang or Chasing Light).

Voyah Zhiyin is more compact than the Free crossover. The length of the new product is 4725 mm, width – 1900 mm, height – 1636 mm, wheelbase – 2900 mm. The length of the older SUV is 4905 mm, the distance between the axles is 2960 mm. The new cross has 20-inch wheels.
The upcoming SUV will differ from other models of the brand in its design. So, Zhiyin will get two-tier head optics. There are also two options for the front end of the crossover – the “nose” can be smooth, in body color, or “concave”, painted black. Other exterior features include retractable door handles and single-piece taillights. We saw the interior in spyshots; separate displays for the instrument panel and multimedia system will be installed inside, while Free, Passion and Dreamer have a three-screen display across the entire width of the front panel.
In the documents of the Chinese Ministry of Industry, a certificate has so far been found only for the purely electric crossover Voyah Zhiyin. However, it is possible that the model will also have a hybrid version. The “electric train” will be offered either with one engine with a power of 292 or 313 hp, or with a dual-motor installation (that is, with all-wheel drive), in which each engine produces 218 hp. There is no information about the battery yet. By the way, in China, the older crossover Voyah Free after last year's restyling (in Russia, this SUV is positioned as a special version of the Sport Edition) is available only as a hybrid, although in other countries, including the Russian Federation, this SUV still has several modifications.
Voyah Zhiyin should enter the home market before the end of this year. Subsequently, the model will probably reach our country, but the export version may be given a different name.
