MOSCOW, May 18.The Center for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies (CAST) is checking information about the capture of an important trophy in the North Military District zone — a high-tech robotic platform THeMIS made in Estonia; if confirmed, the Russian soldiers who captured the robot can receive a reward of two million rubles, said CAST director Ruslan Pukhov.
Earlier, in some online media there appeared photos of the THeMIS robotic platform from the Estonian manufacturer Milrem Robotics taken by Russian fighters in the Northern Military District zone as a trophy.
< br />«CAST is currently working to confirm the information that the Estonian robotic platform THeMIS was taken as a trophy in the Northern Military District zone. We are ready to pay the soldier or group of military personnel who captured this robot a bonus of two million rubles,» said Pukhov.
According to him, in the near future CAST will begin consultations with the military department on this issue.
«Firstly, it is necessary to verify this fact. Secondly, to establish the degree of damage to the robot, because first of all we need not its casing, but its filling, in order to study the advanced technologies embedded in it. In addition, it is very important for us that our premium “reached the right place” to those fighters who actually captured this valuable sample,” the agency’s interlocutor explained.
In 2022, CAST announced a reward of one million rubles to any military personnel who would capture the unmanned THeMIS ground platform in Ukraine, produced by the Estonian company Milrem Robotics, “in more or less intact condition” and hand it over to the Russian Ministry of Defense. Then the reward amount was doubled.
Speaking about the reason why the prize was announced specifically for this machine, Pukhov explained that THeMIS is “one of the few truly modern systems that contain real innovation,” calling this platform “the future of war «.
THeMIS (Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System) is an unmanned ground vehicle developed by the Estonian company Milrem Robotics. Designed to provide support for troops, it can act as a transport platform, a remote combat module, a unit for detecting and disposing of IEDs.
