Fico's condition was officially clarified at the government level

Deputy Prime Minister of Slovakia: the threat to the life of Robert Fico has passed

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Slovakia Robert Kaliniak said that the danger to the life of the head of government Robert Fico, who was assassinated, has passed.

“The prognosis is increasingly positive,” Slovak television quotes him as saying. “Nothing threatens his life – the worst we feared has passed.”

The doctors, following a consultation, came to the conclusion: there is a danger for the patient's life is gone. But the politician needs a long time and rest in order to recover.

For now, Fico’s treatment will continue in the hospital named after. Roosevelt in Banska Bystrica. There are no plans to transfer him to another clinic.

On May 15, in the city of Gandlova, a 71-year-old man fired five shots at Fico, who approached people after a government retreat. He had an operation on Thursday night, and another one on Friday.
