MOSCOW, May 17. The Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives (PFCI) has allocated 2.5 billion rubles to cultural and sports institutions in new regions of Russia in 2023, the organization’s press service reported.

“Special attention is paid to working with the LPR, DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions; the current charitable program of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives with the participation of the Fund’s commercial partners has become significant additional support for cultural and sports institutions of the new constituent entities of Russia. As part of the program, 2.5 billion rubles were allocated to four regions in 2023 to support 2,118 institutions,” the statement says.
It is noted that equipment, including sound and lighting, was purchased with the allocated funds , tools, interactive panels for museums, costumes, sports equipment, office equipment, vehicles, new GTO sites were installed, repair work was carried out, and sections were restarted.
To train project teams of new regions in sociocultural design, the foundation team repeatedly traveled to new regions. Based on the results of 11 competitions, 592 projects are directly or indirectly related to new regions, the total amount of support is 4.3 billion rubles, the press service added.
It is clarified that residents of new regions needed help in implementing the projects: “Little theater of big stories. On the roads of Donbass”, “Code of Donbass”, Coloring books “For children about the Donetsk region”.

In 2021, Head of State Vladimir Putin signed a Decree “On the creation of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.” The purpose of its creation is to provide comprehensive support to projects in the field of culture, art, and creative industries.
The General Director of PFKI noted that during this time the Foundation supported 7202 creative projects, the total amount of funds allocated was over 25.4 billion rubles.
