The management and employees of Gazprombank took part in the event of EuroTrans PJSC to plant trees on the territory of a gas station and electric charging complex under the TRASSA brand on Korovinskoye Shosse in Moscow. The tree planting is timed to coincide with the placement of five issues of EuroTrans bonds, of which two are green bonds, and is a continuation of the Green Tombstone campaign for planting trees in honor of bond transactions, launched by the bank in September 2023.
The participants planted five large linden trees, each at least 1.8–2 m high. The gas station where the trees were planted is equipped with equipment for charging electric vehicles.
Earlier, as part of the campaign, fruit and berry trees, junipers and oak were planted in Moscow and St. Petersburg in honor of the bond issues of Gazprom PJSC, bonds in yuan for companies in various sectors of the economy, as well as “golden” bonds of the Seligdar polymetallic holding.
Oleg Alekseenkov, General Director and Shareholder of EuroTrans PJSC, and Denis Shulakov, Head of the Capital Markets Block of Bank GPB (JSC), delivered welcoming remarks at the event.
Traditionally, a tombstone, a tabletop plastic souvenir, is used as a symbol designed to emphasize the significance of the completed transaction and preserve the memory of the event. The initiative is aimed at making a memorable sign of a completed transaction on the Russian capital markets not an object made of difficult-to-recycle material, but a living tree that can benefit the environment and delight residents and guests of the city.
“Celebrating successful transactions to place securities by planting trees is a new tradition that originated in the Russian financial market in 2023. And we are pleased that EuroTrans became one of the first to take part in the new ritual. Two of the five issues to which tree planting is timed are green — they will be aimed at creating a full-fledged electric charging infrastructure using innovative Russian technologies. Therefore, this event not only reflects the values of EuroTrans as a whole, but also meets the implementation of our green agenda,” commented Oleg Alekseenkov, General Director and shareholder of EuroTrans PJSC.
“The essence any tradition — in community and unity. We are now uniting with like-minded people outside of financial platforms — in green spaces. It’s especially joyful that tree planting is attracting new followers and this spring it is being continued by our partners, especially those whose business lies at the crossroads and opens the way,” said Denis Shulakov, head of the capital markets block of Bank GPB (JSC).
