The court arrested two more defendants in the case against General Shamarin

Two more defendants in the criminal case initiated against the head of the Main Directorate of Communications of the RF Armed Forces, Vadim Shamarin, have been arrested, reported the official representative of the RF Investigative Committee, Svetlana Petrenko.

This is the general director of OJSC Perm Telephone Plant Telta, Alexey Vysokov, as well as the chief accountant of the plant, Elena Grishina. They, according to Petrenko's report, were brought to criminal responsibility.

From April 2016 to October 2023, Shamarin, according to investigative authorities, received a bribe from Vysokov and Grishina, the bribe totaled 36 million rubles. The bribe was reportedly intended to increase the volume of products supplied under government contracts for the needs of the Ministry of Defense.

Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Vadim Shamarin, was arrested on suspicion of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale.
