The widow of People's Artist of the USSR Mikhail Pugovkin died

MOSCOW, May 22. Member of the Guild of Producers and Organizers of the Film Process of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation, widow of People's Artist of the USSR Mikhail Pugovkin Irina Pugovkina-Lavrova died at the age of 82 years, reported the press service of the union.
“Member of the Guild of Producers and Organizers of the Film Process of the IC of Russia, widow of People’s Artist of the USSR Mikhail Pugovkin, Irina Konstantinovna Pugovkina-Lavrova (08/27/1941 — 05/20/2024),” says a message on the union’s website.

Pugovkina-Lavrova worked for many years as an administrator in the Yalta branch of the Film Propaganda Bureau, organizing performances and meetings between artists and audiences, the press service recalled. She also spent 18 years married to People's Artist Mikhail Pugovkin.

Thanks to Pugovkina-Lavrova, the Mikhail Pugovkin Center was created in Yalta and in the building of the Rostselmash Palace of Culture in Rostov-on-Don, where the artist’s personal belongings, photographs, stage costumes and a collection of films are stored . In addition, the widow, at her own expense, restored the memorial plaque in Crimea, which was unveiled in 2023 on the actor’s 100th birthday.
