MOSCOW, May 22. Soviet and Russian theater and film actress, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, theater teacher Elena Muratova died at the age of 93, the press service of the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) reported ).
“”The staff of the Institute of Contemporary Art deeply mourns the death of the Soviet and Russian theater and film actress, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, attentive and sensitive theater teacher, professor of the Department of Theater Arts Elena Petrovna Muratova at the age of 93,” says in a message on the institute's website.
The press service noted that Muratova’s 20 years of hard work at the ISI, on theater and film sets, gave several generations of students inner strength, unquenchable fire, creative enthusiasm, graduation literary and poetic performances “Eugene Onegin”, “Blizzard” , “Steep Route” and the belief that the theater stage and film set are destiny, which once you meet, you will no longer be able to refuse it.
““With her passion for the stage and theatrical art, Elena Petrovna infected and energized students and colleagues, she was an excellent teacher, distinguished by sensitivity and responsiveness, who raised students for whom she became a second mother,” the institute emphasized.
Muratova was born on February 23, 1932 in Tiflis. She played in the films “On the Other Side”, “Scarf of the Beloved”, “Black Business”, “Viy” and others. She has taught at the Institute of Contemporary Art since 2004.
