MOSCOW, May 30. The Federation Council will discuss the ratification of the agreement with China on the joint creation of the International Lunar Station at a meeting on June 5.
In March, the Russian government submitted to the State Duma a bill on the ratification of the agreement with China on the joint creation of the International Scientific Lunar Station (ISLS).
It was noted that the task of the MNLS is to conduct multidisciplinary and multipurpose research work, including the exploration and use of the Moon, fundamental research experiments and technology testing, with the possibility of long-term unmanned operation of the MNLS with the prospect of ensuring a human presence on the Moon.
The implementation of the agreement, as noted, will contribute to strengthening the strategic partnership between Russia and China, developing joint space activities, and consolidating Russia's leading role in space exploration, including lunar exploration projects.
