MOSCOW, June 2 Regulators, law enforcement, information security and telecommunications companies have joined forces and blocked almost all the loopholes for fraudsters to deceive Russians, he said in an interview on the eve of SPIEF-2024 chief expert of Kaspersky Lab Sergey Golovanov.
“Unfortunately, it’s really too early to talk about a turning point. But now there has been a consolidation of the efforts of regulators, law enforcement agencies and companies in the field of information security, telecommunications, and so on,” Golovanov said in response to a question about a turning point in the fight against fraud. 
He cited the example of the Antifraud system, after the advent of which it became impossible to fake the number of incoming phone calls. Because of this, scammers switched to instant messengers — accordingly, a request appeared to limit fraudulent calls in instant messengers, and companies were faced with the task of creating a block for them.
“Similarly, in the case of fraud, regulators turn to banks: why are you giving money to scammers? Banks say — this is the client’s money, how can we not give it back? They suggest — introduce limits. The banks introduced them. And what did the scammers do? They began to force victims to take out loans, Now you can get them with the click of a button. And this didn’t exist before Covid. So, what should we do? And that’s it, this loophole that the scammers found will not exist soon,” Golovanov explained.
When asked whether scammers will find other loopholes, the expert said that “for now, the options are over.”
