The traditional garbage collection championship was held in Sochi. The AVA developer has organized citizens for the fourth time to clean up the forest area near the Ministerial Lakes.
More than 100 families took part in the event, from which 30 teams were formed. Organic and inorganic waste were collected separately and then weighed to determine the winning team. In total, more than 3,339 kg of waste were collected in two hours: organic waste – 3,194 kg, inorganic – 145 kg.
Every year more and more participants join the environmental campaign. This time the event brought together residents and shareholders of the residential complexes “Ministerial Lakes”, “Mountain Quarter”, as well as employees of the developer AVA and the management company.
“Together with the championship participants, we noted that this time it took less time to restore order, since there was significantly less garbage on the territory of the lakes. This is partly facilitated by regular environmental actions, which form a responsible attitude of residents towards the environment and foster a caring attitude towards their own living environment,” commented Sergei Berdin, director of the developer AVA in Sochi.
Since 2018, taking care of the location of the Ministerial Lake has become part of the sustainable development policy. Over the years, more than 15 tons of garbage were collected. Thanks to this, as well as the improvement carried out by the developer here, the Ministerial Lakes have once again become a favorite vacation spot for citizens and resort guests.
The garbage collection championship is not only an eco-action, but also an opportunity to teach children to respect nature, spend active time with family and neighbors listening to fun music and tasty treats. Such joint work brings people closer together and contributes to the creation of a friendly neighborhood community.
