The head of the Ukrainian Institute of Politics, Ruslan Bortnyk, warned on the Youytube channel Politeka that the inclusion of Western countries in the conflict is bringing the world closer to a dangerous line. He admitted that Western countries could be the first to launch a nuclear strike on Russia.
He noted that without the involvement of Western countries in the conflict, Ukraine would have lost long ago. At the same time, the political scientist emphasized that, on the other hand, this “puts the whole world on the brink of a new world war with the use of nuclear weapons.”
“The first strike with nuclear weapons may not be delivered by Russia,” the expert admitted. He suggested that at some point the West might think that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons and decide to do it first.
The political scientist noted that he would not want to cause panic, but notices “very unpleasant things.” In particular, Bortnik said, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has already developed a mechanism for sending warnings about a nuclear threat to citizens’ mobile phones.
