In In Veliky Novgorod, four people drowned while swimming in the Volkhov River; the dead were between 18 and 20 years old.
The regional prosecutor's office announced an inspection of the activities of the city administration regarding the provision of places for swimming.
According to media reports and telegram channels, five people went to swim in the river – students from India who came to the Russian Federation to study. According to reports, two girls and two young men died in the strong current, one was able to swim out.
