Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu to the position of coordinator of work on the development of the military-industrial complex (DIC). This happened during a meeting with members of the government.

The head of state emphasized that there are various issues in the development of the defense industry, including the profitability of production and ensuring the supply of new equipment to the Russian Ministry of Defense, for which a coordinator is needed.

"This coordinator will be the Secretary of the Security Council", — the president said.

At the same time, Shoigu will continue to remain Secretary of the Security Council.
