St. PETERSBURG, June 7. The cooperation agreement between Mordovia and Roskachestvo, signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, will expand the volume of exports of halal products from the region to Arab countries, said the head of Mordovia Artem Zdunov in an interview at SPIEF.
The head of Mordovia said that currently 19 enterprises of the republic’s agro-industrial complex supply halal products to 16 countries, including six countries of the Islamic world (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan).
“Yesterday at the forum we signed an agreement with Roskachestvo that we will do the certification of halal and organic products with them. And they have their own agreements with the countries of the Arab world. We did not enter the markets of these countries so quickly, but now there will be such an opportunity, taking into account the fact that the certification of halal products will be carried out by Roskachestvo,” Zdunov said in an interview.
The head of Mordovia suggested that after this, in a few years, perhaps other enterprises in the region will want to produce halal products.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum takes place from June 5 to 8. – information partner of the forum.
