Rishi Sunak has pledged to recruit 8,000 extra police officers to tackle car theft, burglary and anti-social behaviour.

Officers will be dedicated to borough policing to ensure people feel safe in their communities.

The £650 million plan will be included in the Tory manifesto, which will be published on Tuesday, and will be funded through a 25 percent increase in all visas for foreign workers and visitors and a 30 percent increase in medical fees for foreigners. students.

This will take the total number of police officers in the UK to its highest level of almost 180,000, surpassing the previous peak of 172,000 in 2010, the last year of the Labor government.

This comes after three years Until April last year, an additional 20,000 police officers were recruited in England and Wales.

Mr Sunak said: “People deserve to feel safe in their area. More officers on duty and expanded powers will give police the tools they need to further reduce crime in the area.

“Labour has no plan or ideas for how to fund more police officers. Our clear plan will create a safer future for areas across the country.”

The Tories have been criticized for the rise in crime recorded by police, including near-record levels of knife crime.

Labour said it plans to put an extra 13,000 police officers and police community support officers (PCSOs) on the streets, but Mr Sunak says the plan to bring in 8 000 fully guaranteed officers are better than this.

Labor is proposing 3,000 extra officers, 4,000 non-arrest PCSOs, 3,000 special constables and 3,000 officers, split from the previous increase of 20,000.

This comes ahead of the second seven-way televised debate with representatives all parties on Thursday, as well as the Sky leader's interview with Mr Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer on Wednesday.

Last Friday, Nigel Farage, the Reform UK leader, used the first seven-party debate to claim that crime ” so serious that people usually don’t even bother to report it.”

Additional officers will be recruited in the next Parliament, bringing the number to 8,000 in the next Parliament. 2027-28, equivalent to an additional striker in every parish in England and Wales.

Funding will be subject to the condition that additional officers cannot be removed from working in the area unless exceptional reasons arise. To ensure a real boost, the force will be prohibited from using them to replace the current bobbies in the beat.

Visa fees, excluding medical fees to fund the National Health Service, have risen from £184 million in 2003, when the Blair government introduced them, to £2.2 billion in 2022. They have since been increased, with the health care surcharge increasing by 66 percent. last year.

The 25 per cent increase will mean the visitor charge will rise from £115 to £144, the skilled worker charge will rise from £719 to £899, and the student surcharge will rise from £ sterling. From 750 to 1035 pounds sterling.

The Tory manifesto also pledges to roll out hotspot policing – where officers focus on known problem areas of crime and anti-social behavior – across England and Wales.

The safety and security that British people deserve

Every area needs Bobby on the beat. This is important for reducing crime, increasing community cohesion and improving trust between local residents and the police, writes James Cleverley.

It is what people expect from their government, and rightly so. We'll get it. We are the only ones who have a clear plan to continue doing this.

Since 2019, we have delivered on our promise to add 20,000 police officers, meaning there are more police officers than ever before. And it made a huge difference: overall crime rates have dropped 54 percent since 2010.

Combined with record police numbers, we have pioneered new policing techniques such as our hot spots policing programme, meaning we can target resources to tackle specific crimes such as violent assaults and anti-social behaviour.

The plan is working, with anti-social behavior almost halved in some places.

    Hotspot Policing Program

But we won't stop there in our fight against the common criminal. We will bring 8,000 more police officers, one extra to each force in England and Wales.

We will also add conditions to this additional funding, ensuring that these officers are included in the local police force.

We will roll out the hot spots policing program that has been so effective in rooting out anti-social behavior in England and Wales.

The alternative could not be clearer. The Labor Party puts a lot of effort into trying to convince people that they are strong on crime, but how can they be if they don't have a plan?

    “Soft on crime”

We all know that Labor is soft on crime. Where they are in power, crime is higher. Starmer tries to think the British are fools, but we see right through his patronizing platitudes and sweet words. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Only 3,000 of the estimated 13,000 are actually new full-time officers with full security. The rest are either officers whom the Conservative government has already hired, public servants who do not have arrest powers, or special constables who volunteer generously and do not work full-time.

On the other hand, we have a lot of experience getting Bobby into the groove. We had a clear plan in 2019 to bring in the 20,000 additional police officers we delivered a year early, and now we have a clear plan. We are the only ones who can be trusted with this important task.

    “No place in Conservative Britain”

Anti-social behaviour, burglaries and violent crime can damage a peaceful area. We will make it clear that these criminals have no place in Conservative Britain. Our new officers will make up another 8,000 foot soldiers in our war against these crimes.

I want these new police officers to make a noticeable difference. To do this, these officers will need new tools and powers to deal with the ever-increasing crime rate. From facial recognition technology to greater powers to seize knives and stolen goods, we will have more police and more power to tackle criminals.

Neighborhood crimes can destroy a local area and make people's lives miserable. about their daily lives.

Our plan will give local areas the safety and security that British people deserve. Without it, we would allow lesser criminals to get away with impunity.
