MOSCOW, June 6 Lyubov Uspenskaya may file a lawsuit against artist Philip Kirkorov for the protection of honor and dignity due to information discrediting her, the lawyer said singer Elena Senina in the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow.
Today, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court continued to consider Kirkorov’s claim against Uspenskaya for 12 million rubles due to Uspenskaya’s interview with journalist Alena Zhigalova, in which the artist was called a “misogynist.” During the trial, Senina stated that Kirkorov recently gave an interview to the MUZ-TV channel, where he allegedly called Uspenskaya a “beggar” and that she was “begging for clothes and gifts.” Now Uspenskaya wants Kirkorov to refute what was said.
“We sent a pre-trial claim to Kirkorov. He has not responded yet. We are not asking for any money,” Senina said.
According to the lawyer, they are thinking about filing a lawsuit.
Today, during the next hearing on the artist’s claim against the singer, the court reviewed a fragment of an interview with Zhigalova with controversial statements. Kirkorov's representative believes that the information in it does not correspond to reality. The plaintiff has an extra-judicial linguistic examination confirming that the negative information is presented in the form of a statement. It also says that Uspenskaya “is aware of the meaning of her words and wants negative consequences to occur.”
Senina said that they do not recognize the claims and ask the court to refuse Kirkorov’s application.
According to the defendant, the artist needs PR, not protection of his rights.
Earlier, the artist’s lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky said that in their lawsuit they ask the court to oblige Uspenskaya to refute all the words with which she tried to discredit the honor and dignity of his client, and also to recover compensation for moral damages from her (10 million rubles ) and legal expenses (2 million).
