KRASNOYARSK, June 13 A seven-year-old child died during dental treatment in Krasnoyarsk; the boy's teeth were to be treated under medical sleep, the regional prosecutor's office reports.
According to the department, the tragedy occurred on June 12. Parents and their child came to a pediatric dentist in Krasnoyarsk from the Bolshemurtinsky district. Dental treatment was planned under sedation — “in a dream”.
“After the administration of anesthesia, the child’s saturation began to rapidly drop. During the resuscitation measures, the boy’s condition worsened. The ambulance team that arrived to the call confirmed the child’s death,” the message says.
The prosecutor’s office will check the quality of medical care for the child, as well as compliance with the requirements of the legislation on health protection when providing dental services to children.
A criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Causing death by negligence.” The regional investigative committee notes that the mother provided the clinic with the necessary test results for her son. The anesthesiologist, having decided that there were no contraindications for this procedure in the child, administered sedation to the boy.
