Due to trees fallen by strong winds more than 10 thousand residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region were left without electricity.
The elements tore out trunks and broke branches in Nizhny Novgorod, Sokolsky, Chkalovsk, Bor, as well as Ardatovsky, Bogorodsky, Voskresensky, Volodarsky districts. There were no deaths or injuries as a result of the rampant disaster.
Earlier, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation warned that the Nizhny Novgorod region will be covered by bad weather on the evening of June 13: wind with gusts of up to 24 meters per second, rain, and hail in some places. Drivers and pedestrians are urged to be extremely careful – it is recommended to avoid unstable structures.
This was preceded by heat of up to 30 degrees. However, on the weekend the thermometers in the Nizhny Novgorod region will drop; at night it will be about 16 degrees, and during the day – no more than 25.
