BLAGOVESCHENSK, June 14Entertainment and public events in Blagoveshchensk were canceled due to the death of pedestrians in a major accident, reports the Ministry of Culture of the Amur Region.
“”Entertainment and public events in regional cultural institutions for the coming days are canceled due to the tragedy in Blagoveshchensk on Vasilenko Street,” the message says.
According to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs, the accident occurred on Friday at about 19.28 (13.28 Moscow time ) on Vasilenko Street in Blagoveshchensk. It has been previously established that the driver, born in 1965, lost control and at high speed hit pedestrians who were walking on the sidewalk.
As a result of the accident, a woman and two minors, 14 and 15 years old, died. Six more were injured, including three children. They are in extremely critical condition. A medical examination showed that the driver was intoxicated. A criminal case has been opened. At the site of the accident, residents of Blagoveshchensk organized a spontaneous memorial.
